Basketball star Russell Westbrook symbolically remarries his wife in an emotional ceremony, marking their decade-long union anniversary
NBA Star Russell Westbrook Renews Vows with Wife Nina in Italy
Russell Westbrook, the nine-time NBA All-Star and former MVP, recently renewed his vows with his wife, Nina Westbrook, in a romantic ceremony held in Italy. The couple, who have been together since college and have three children, celebrated their 10-year anniversary of their initial marriage, which took place at the Beverly Hills Hotel in August 2015.
The Westbrooks were on a vacation overseas when they decided to renew their vows. Surrounded by flowers and their close friends and family, the couple exchanged heartfelt vows on a boat, with both getting emotional during the ceremony. Westbrook and Nina were dressed in white outfits resembling wedding attire for the occasion.
Russell Westbrook's NBA career began when he was picked with the fourth overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft by the Oklahoma City Thunder, who were the Seattle SuperSonics at the time. He spent the first 11 seasons of his career with the Thunder before being traded to the Utah Jazz in 2020 and later waived. In 2024, he signed with the Denver Nuggets during the offseason.
Westbrook has had a productive career with the Nuggets, averaging 13.3 points per game in the 2024-25 season, the most since the 2022-23 season. However, he declined his player option for 2025-26, becoming a free agent without much team interest, potentially entering the 2025-26 season unsigned.
Nina Westbrook, apart from being a supportive wife, is also a podcast host and mental health advocate. She runs several mental health workshops under the brand name Bene and also created the Relationship Chronicles podcast.
The Westbrooks' initial marriage in 2015 was a star-studded event, attended by many celebrities. Since then, they have continued to support each other through the ups and downs of their personal and professional lives. As Russell Westbrook looks forward to his 18th season in the NBA, he does so with the love and support of his wife and family.
